Part of the East Lothian snorkel trail!
This popular beach next to the Scottish Seabird
Centre provides fantastic snorkel opportunities for both beginners and more confident snorkellers.
This beach is accessible by ramp. Once in the water, beginners can search around North Berwick’s Boating Pond to find hermit crabs and molluscs. Experienced snorkellers can investigate gullies to the north and east of the centre.

By road
Follow signs for North Berwick. Road-side parking is possible adjacent to Milsey bay and North Berwick offers several car parks (charges apply). Several electric vehicle charging points are available in North Berwick.

By rail
The nearest train station is North Berwick (5 miles East) with services running regularly to/from Edinburgh and other stations.
By bus
Bus services are provided locally by East Coast Buses/Lothian Buses (services 124 and X5, which travel between Edinburgh and North Berwick).

This area is home to internationally important colonies of breeding seabirds (April-September) and seals (harbour seals June-July, grey seals August-December). Please behave responsibly and stay distant, wildlife should be left undisturbed. For more information see sealalliance.org and nature.scot. Avoid disturbing ground-nesting birds and livestock; follow the Outdoor Access and Marine Wildlife Watching codes.
