Part of the Lochaber snorkel trail!
Experience the Sound of Mull from a unique vantage point, as you immerse yourself in a world full of marine marvels.
A quiet beach offering a beginner area just off the
sand. More advanced snorkellers can follow the edge
of the rocky reef, which is submerged at high water
and exposed at low water, to explore the seaweed
habitat where a host of other species can be found.
By road
Follow the A884 south along Loch Aline, driving south past Lochaline Ferry Terminal and follow the penninsula west towards the Lochaline Hotel. Just before the hotel, parking is in an off-road gravel car park. From the car park, take a short walk along uneven ground to the pebble shore.
The nearest electric vehicle charging station is 0.3 miles away in Movern.

Other considerations
Please be a responsible snorkeller; do not touch, take or tease wildlife.
This area is home to internationally important colonies of breeding seabirds (April-September) and seals (harbour seals June-July, grey seals August-December). Please behave responsibly and stay distant, wildlife should be left undisturbed. For more information see sealalliance.org and nature.scot. Avoid disturbing ground-nesting birds and livestock; follow the Outdoor Access and Marine Wildlife Watching codes.
Snorkelling can be dangerous and is done entirely at your own risk. Information is provided free of charge; it is your responsibility to check the conditions present on the day and assess whether it is safe to snorkel.
