Loch Creran is one of only two known sites globally where serpulid worms form reefs, creating habitats for
many other species.
Here on the Loch’s north shore, look out for urchins, crabs and otters.

From Appin, drive south on the A828 to Cregan; turn right to park at the Cregan Inn, just before the A828 bridge.
The nearest electric vehicle charging station is 6.3 miles away in Benderloch.

The nearest train station is Oban (1.7 miles away).
By bus
Bus services are provided locally by West Coast Motors. . Regular buses run from Oban to Dunbeg on weekdays. SAMS beach is a 30 minute cycle from Oban, or 10 minutes from Ganavan Sands using the cycle path.
