A small inlet with beautiful views across to Skye.
Beneath the waves, clear water and rich marine life awaits, with plenty of different fish and crustaceans to see. The inner bay is well sheltered from westerly winds and great for beginners. Heading further out along the west side of the bay is a good option for more advanced snorkellers.

How to get there

By road

From Tarbert, follow the A859 north through Àird Àsaig and as it curves east to Loch Mharaig then southwards to Rhenigidale Youth Hostel. The bay is 0.1 miles before the hostel, with parking possible in the road-side slipway next to the bay.

Follow the grassy path down to the shingle bay.

The nearest electric vehicle charging station is in Tarbert (12 miles away).

This area is home to breeding seabirds (April-September) and seals (harbour seals June-July, grey seals August-December).
