Dab Limanda limanda

A small flatfish with both eyes on the right side of its body. It is brown with darker blotches and speckles, some individuals may have some orange spots as well.

 

 

Behaviour

They inhabit sandy areas – most commonly from 20-40m depths though they can reach 150m. They tend to stick closer to shore in their juvenile stages – often in less than 1m of water while the adults will migrate into deeper waters during the summer.
